Ballroom has 2 categories: SMOOTH and RHYTHM.  

Smooth are the dances that progress counterclockwise around the floor: Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Polka etc.   

Rhythm dances are all of the Swing Dances: East Coast, West Coast, Hustle and Carolina Shag.  Rhythm also includes all of the Latin Dances: Cha Cha, Rumba, Salsa, Samba, Mambo, Merengue, Bachata, Bolero and Cumbia.   Throw in Nightclub 2 step as it can be a spot dance or progress.

I teach one from each category per month.   In time you will learn them all.
